Meet the Team

Magali Bureau

Magali has spent the past 5 years pursuing her communications degree at SFU, all whilst traveling and working on various projects. Her most recent project included writing and designing her own photography coffee table book, with the hopes of one day publishing it herself. Magali would describe herself as a full-time student, part-time artist, activist, and runner, and full-time adventurer. She also demonstrates a great understanding of fractions. Magali’s eclectic and somewhat random interests is what drew her to join the Publish This team. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share equally diverse and exciting content about Canada’s favourite underdog: our publishing industry!

Zoe Vedova

Zoe is a podcast fiend who is thrilled to help run Publish This, as it combines her passion for audio projects with passion projects about publishing. She is pursuing a communications major and publishing minor and to prove it, Zoe has dedicated one hour of almost every Friday of her academic career to being a media creator through hosting the radio show, Femconquest, on the SFU radio station CJSF. Zoe loves the massive micro-world of publishing and all of its intricate and often overly elaborate projects.

Cayli Barrett

Cayli is a full time SFU student currently pursuing a triple minor in graphic design, publishing, and communications. She was first introduced to the world of publishing through her academic pursuits, but soon discovered a love for the industry and for Canadian books. Her goal is to foster a more diverse publishing industry not only through authorship but all throughout production, and is always on the look-out for small/micro presses who share similar ideals.

Tyne Johnson-Dhillon

Tyne is a self-declared radio aficionado and is on a quest to discover the best rock station in every new city she visits. If you asked what her hobbies were her answer would probably be Twitter. When she’s not on Twitter or working on her BA in communications, Tyne spends her free time listening to post-punk music, watching anime, thinking about labour, and reading books recommended by her mum. Nothing makes her punk-publishing heart happier than learning about and exploring micro-press projects, both new and historic, and sharing them with anyone who will listen.

Audrey Bourassa-Tait

Audrey is a 4th year communication student with an interest in graphic design and home staging at SFU. Her creative side and her love for website designing led her to pursue a minor in digital publishing. Though she is still fairly new to the world of digital literacy, she is excited to take the leap and dive deep into what it has to offer. She is currently focusing her energy on supporting micropresses in the lower mainland, as she considers them the backbone of the Canadian publishing industry.
